My wife Joan and I are extremely pleased with our new house in Salvo built by Carl Worsley & Associates.  After purchasing a piece of property, we were in the process of interviewing builders when we met Carl “Pogie” Worsley. After talking to him for about 20 minutes, he had a good idea of what we wanted and took us to look at two houses that were almost exactly what we were looking for.  By the time we left the island to head back home we felt like we had known Pogie for 20 years and we decided that he is the one that is going to build our house.  

Pogie sent us drawings of the houses we looked at and was very receptive to the changes that we wanted to make in the design.  Once we settled on the plans Pogie got us right into the construction schedule and starting setting pilings the last week in December.  The vendors that he uses for kitchen cabinets, plumbing fixtures, flooring, and interior accessories were very easy to work with and went the extra mile to make sure everything was installed properly and on time.  We were also very pleased to get scheduling updates and weekly pictures throughout the entire process, something that really ”made our day” as we were enduring winter weather up here in the northeast.

We made several inspection trips to the island and every time Pogie and/or Dan Crawford, the project superintendant was there to met us and show us through the house. 

Nothing was a problem to these guys and even with the changes that we made during the construction process, the house was done a week ahead of schedule and exactly the way we envisioned it. They stayed within our budget parameters and were very reasonable on any additional work that we requested.

We originally had some concerns about building a vacation house 400 miles away from our home just north of Philadelphia, but Pogie and his team made the entire project an absolute pleasure.   If you are thinking about building on the Outer Banks, we would recommend that C.W. Worsley & Associates be you first stop.
